18 Ways to Salvage Your Retirement

November 15, 2008

Here’s a 5-minute guide to saving your retirement now, spotted on MSN Money; for those who have the modest luxury, and opportunity, to still be able to plan ahead.

Be informed, and prepare, prepare, prepare …

Remember King Solomon’s admonition {mentioned in another post, but worth a repeat}: “Take a lesson from the ants …Learn from their ways and be wise! For though they have no king to make them work, yet they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter.” Especially sage advise for those who are yet in the “summer” of your working life; in the current economic environment, to help you to chart a successful pathway to your financial security at retirement.

Presently I am approaching the first 60-days of my retirement {aka walk-away-from-work} from the traditional 40-hour week; with all of it’s attending demands and constraints. And I must confess that retirement; with college tuition behind us, and the usual on going expenses {ie the mortgage, utilities, the car, insurance(s),  phone(s), and other necessities} comfortably covered; with a growing “recession proof” income coming in daily, weekly and monthly, makes for a joyus state of existence.

My hope for you is that this MSN Money article, that I am sharing, will pass on some helpful strategies for you; as you chart your pathway to retirement, and financial security:
